Pretty Please

Youngest at breakfast today. Very Cross. Seemed to have woken up in Very Bad Mood.
'Not Hungry,' he said, gruffly. 'Not Eating Anyfing.'
Oh, said I. Starving. Tucking into Four Weetabix.
Youngest sits for a while. Arms crossed. Mouth jutting out and Scowling.
'Get me a plate,' he orders his sister, sitting handily next to the plate cupboard.
Daughter ignores him and carries on eating her Cornflakes.
'Get me a bloody plate.' says Youngest.
We all stare at Youngest in Horror.
'What Do You Say?' asks Daughter, haughtily.
'Get Me A Bloody Plate. Please,' says Youngest.
Honestly.
And it's only Day 2 of the holidays.
Roll on, September.

See.... it is what I always say about modelling behaviour. Manners really are everything ;-)

NN - TEN????!! You are my hero. I bow to you. ;)x !
Trashalou - oh dear. If that is modelling behaviour... must clean up my act. Mind you, could have been worse!?

I sympathize entirely. Although my oldest will probably be going to university in September and I'll miss him. Mind you his sister can't wait to see the back of him.

Oh, and I just want to inform you that "mine" never did anything like this and things like this never contributed to my current mental status.

Yeah right... pull the other one, Tater.
*wink wink*

VC- Hey, you can have mine!! Please. Really.
Debs - bet she misses him horribly. Maybe?! :)
ww - yup! Joy indeed. Not too bad a day today apart from finding 37 spots all over Youngest. Had disappeared by tea time. What the hell?!
Tatersmama - ok, you need to enlighten me, my friend... ROFLMAO.... is this about orifices, or laughing? Please be the latter...
Glad your mental state is just like mine... not that I'd ever say that out loud... ;) XX

Mmmm. Sure does! The little devil. After that debacle this morning he was an angel.. well, until tea time. When he reverted. Not to type. Just to something other than angelic. Grrrr.

Hmmm I have hair dye available if you need it.

hee hee hee!

It was the second day of our holidays today. Eldest child got seriously miffed when second child applied snot to (eldest child's) cheek.

Found myself engaged in philosophical debate as to whether it was worse to have snot applied to one or to be peed upon (as in an intra sibling sleepwalking episode a couple of years ago).

I always think it is important to discuss the Big Questions with one's children. Sigh.

Ooohh. I SOO hate the "Grumpy Gus" crap. I have one who veers into that and I could bean him when he turns the whole room and mood sour. He's completely sunshine and shadow and they change pretty rapidly.

I remember hearing Matthew McConaughey, in an interview once, say that his mother never tolerated bad attitudes. If he came to the breakfast table grumpy, she would turn him right around and tell him he forgot to get his good attitude up (or something like that). He then couldn't return until he'd fixed it. My son is 14 and we're STILL working on it, though mornings are a lot better now. He used to wake up every day crying. Maybe by the time he's 18 it'll finally kick in?!

Ha, ha. If he's "not eating anyfing", he must be fwee and fwee quawtas, like my little guy.

He doesn't sound like much of a morning person. :-)

Valerie - hair dye sounds just perfect... just have to make sure I havent pulled it all out...:)
Elaine - !!! eeeuuurrrggghhhh! I reckon its the snot. Wee is at least sterile, if we are going to be purists here. Snot is just Not Nice. Smeared anywhere, really. Oh I dont know... decisions, decisions!
Robynn - Right. We are going to stop all Bad Attitudes here too... (does that include me?) Will report back in due course. Youngest still grumpy today!! But we did find a spot or thirty on his back, so he has an excuse, like chicken pox. Poor little mite. XX
CS - !!! wish he was. He's five and a fifth. Loved your fwee and fwee qwarters!! so sweet.
Nancy - No! Actually normally the little blighter is, but has woken really late the last couple of mornings and we cant bear the mood of him... will make sure he goes back to his normal 6am wake up call!
Reasons123 - !! Glad Mother in law wasnt here. She would NOT have found it in the least funny!!!!
