In Which Youngest Is Proud of his Willy
We went blackberrying today.
Rays of gold shafting through hedges laden with hawthorns, sloes, elderberries and blackberries. Lazy flies hovering over the horses in the fields, and dancing over us as we make our way down the track.
Under mighty oaks we go, flanked by rabbit flattened grass and late buttercups.
Youngest and Daughter are on their bicycles.
Suddenly, through the stillness of the afternoon, Youngest yells out in joy,
'Mummy! Take a look at my willy! It's Amazing!' He is obviously Deeply Impressed with himself.
In horror I take a furtive look. What in hell's name is he doing now?
He is on his bike, front wheel up, scrunching to a dusty and triumphant halt.
'There! Did you see it, Mummy? Did you see my willy?'
With Great Relief I tell him that indeed I have seen it. And that it was as Amazing as he thought it was.
A Wheelie.
Bless.

We're all proud of our willys. It's a guy thing. We never stop being proud of them, even when we're all grown up.
Wheelies too.
:)
Lololol... you KNOW that I was expecting the other kind of willy, don't you?
I've got a kid in care right now, who is extremely proud of the other kind of willy, and it's driving me batty!
;-D
I could do with my son being proud of that other one. He's in school now, and still handling himself in public a little too much for my liking.
LOL - I should have seen it coming!
Oh dear God, a reprieve.
Don't expect too long a respite, my dear. The willie adoration comes quick.
I love you, and I love your blog!
Love,
Casa Hice
Too funny!
My 10 yr old once asked what a condom was - I took a deep breath and gave an age appropriate explanation - it took a while - my older daughter waited till I had plowed through the whole schpiel and said, "Mom, she asked you what a condo is!"
I wish I had paused a moment or two like you.
Be reassured, wheelies wont make him blind xx
Whew! Ah, you blog is soooo good for my funny bone. Lordy, I can just imagine your internal sigh of relief at the outcome here! Oh man, I have sooo been there. And just when I stopped laughing, I read Bonnie's comment just above here, and cracked up all over again. My tummy muscles are sore from laughing!
I'm just glad his willy wasn't hurt in the making of his wheelie.
I was on a bike yesterday for the first time in an age. My 13 year old stepson was much better, whereas I wobbled all over the shop.
I didn't get into willies - I think it would have proved numerous points and depressed me somewhat.
Hahahahahaha! As a mother of boys, I can appreciate that one.
My young son says much the same thing.
I think next time we'll encourage him to take his bike!.
And why not?
So relieved!
I definitely felt your relief...grins. I have to thank you for the Sunday giggles which were enlarged somewhat by your followers' comments.
Seeing as we never have talk of willies in this house (2 daughters and even the cat is female) I was hopeful that I might learn something...another time hey?? Made me laugh though xx
"He is on his bike, front wheel up, scrunching to a dusty and triumphant halt."
I think you were right first time. (-;
(my word verification is "sorewee" = eek!
And he'll be just as proud in 20 years time - both of willies and wheelies.
Thanks one and all for lovely comments again... so sorry to be so lazy and do just one comment back. Up to ears in work. Lovely and all but Full On.
Poor Youngest came off his bike on sunday... grazed all down his side. No more Willies for a day or two. Poor little mite.
(Alix, so glad you love me!! Made my day. Love you too of course!)
Oooh I did wonder what was coming then, nice one!
With boys you never DO know. Good thing you took a visual before you commented. Aren't males always proud of all their.... accomplishments! :)
