Very proud. Have painted our sitting room a rather Farrow and Ball green, which goes extremely nicely with our white cupboards, and the gorgeous sunlight that streams through the windows for most of the day. Thrilled with it.
Had interesting moment in B & Q when Middle Son and I were perusing the paint colours. Did we want Forest Glade 4 or Evergreen 3? Um.
A nightmare of gazing very closely at colours that are IDENTICAL.
With different names.
?????
Anyway.
Middle Son said, very loudly in the middle of Paint Section of B & Q that he thought we should go and look in the Durex Section.
???
Got quite a few Looks from other paint enthusiasts.
Had to subdue giggles while peering closely at Brilliant DULUX White choices, as was finding it hard to hold it in, as it were.
Middle Son pink with embarrassment, but also finding it hard not to break into hysteria. So joined me by the Brilliant White section, and we both laughed hard but silently, into the 5 litre paint pots until we had maintained some sort of equilibrium.
Bought our paint.
Came home.
Painted.
Ta da!!

I trust that you are not trying to mess with your son's head by persuading him that there is more than one 'green'.
It is green. Not "Grecian Garland" or "Celtic Moor" or "Thai curry vomit".
*snorting* that's one of those things that sticks, and paint will forever be known as Durex in your family form now on y'know...
A friend of mine was dithering hopelessly between F&B's 'White Tie' and 'Clunch' a few months ago.
Her decorator (at breaking point, I think) gently pointed out that the two shades were in fact indentical... and exactly the same as any other brands basic 'magnolia' shade.
She bought
I'm not a great one for DIY but I do know you should wear protection when doing it. The Durex section sounds like the best place to start when visiting B&Q.
VS - OMG. And there was me totally missing out the Thai Curry options. Dammit. Oh, well, we'll just have to stick with Tuscan Glade 3. Sounds like lavatory cleaner, but looks nice.
Laura - Clunch!!! WHY didn't we get THAT one. Glad someone else dithered. Never before have I dithered quite so long and ditheringly... glad its over!
Troy - I quite agree, and you'll be glad to hear that we wore protection throughout the entire thing. Better safe than sorry. Or green. xx
Die die die I would have been weak at the end of that and probably have been banned from B&Q for creating a total spectacle of myself! I do feel for him though...
Easy mistake to make ;)
I love it - hilarious! And I love the variety of paint colour names except when I am trying to make my choice. A x
NB word verification was "dinhogl 7" - perhaps that could be a new name for a future colour!
Oooh, now there's a Freudian slip. Tee hee.
That was funny.
Glad you picked a green that you liked. It is confusing with so many shades to choose from.
No wonder...... a slip of the tongue occurred!

Oh it's such a load of guff isn't it?!
My parents have just VERY generously given us the money to do up our front room. I'm grateful, I really am. No, really, I really am.
But I somehow can't face the endless salmon's bum, rusty nail, caribbean headache 4 conversations AGAIN....
